The President's Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan is created by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is the official organization which is carrying out functions of the republican state structure in archival securing activity of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and his Administration.
The Archives carries out constant storage texts (on a paper basis), audiovisual, electronic documents, insurance fund of copies of the documents connected with activity of the President's Administration, the structures created under the Head of the State, separate central agencies, public, political associations, statesmen and politicians, archival funds of archival establishments – predecessors.
The open access to documents, including containing the government, service secret, is made according to the current legislation.
The operating procedure of researchers with documents, scientific and inquiry device at the Archives is defined by Rules of work in a reading room, approved by the Archives’ Director.
Priorities
- Acquisition and storage of documents, formed during activity of the President's Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other state structures, which directly subordinated and accountable to the Head of the State;
- Securing of safety of the National archival fund on modern history of Kazakhstan stored in the Archives;
- Granting of retrospective documental information, information service of the President's Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the state structures, which directly subordinated and accountable to the Head of the State, physical and corporate clients.
Goals and Objectives
- To provide constant state storage, safety and the state account of the documents formed during activity of the President's Administration, and other documents stored in the Archives; the state control over the archival documents which are being on temporary departmental storage in establishments – sources of acquisition;
- To complete the Archives by the documents formed during activity of the President's Administration and other official organizations – fund formators;
- To develop the scientific and inquire device to archival funds;
- To organize all-round use and the scientific publication of archival documents;
- To participate in the organization of management documentation and control over its condition;
- To render the scientific, methodical and practical help to the state and departmental archives, services of the documentation of establishments - sources of acquisition of the Archives;
- To conduct research and methodical work in the field of management of archives, management documentation, auxiliary historical disciplines;
- To carry out scientific and theoretical conferences;
- To participate in researches on problems of modern history of Kazakhstan;
- To develop questions of contemporary political science.
Organization of the Archives activity
The Archives is headed by the Director, who appointed to a post and dismissed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Archives advisory structures: Top Management, Scientific Council, Expert & Verification Methodical Commission, Technical Commission on Documents Declassifying, position and staff of which is affirmed by the Archives’ Director.
